Why Self Efficacy is Important in Addiction Recovery

Want to know how and why Addict II Athlete works? On today's podcast, we explore Albert Bandura's social learning theory of self-efficacy. Self-efficacy is part of your self-system comprised of your attitudes, abilities, and cognitive skills, according to Bandura. This system plays a major role in how we perceive situations and how we behave in response to different situations.

Self-efficacy is a person’s belief in his or her ability to succeed in a particular situation. Bandura described these beliefs as determinants of how people think, behave, and feel. Listen as Coach Blu and Athletic Director Marissa discuss how important this theory is on team Addict II Athlete, from the content we provide to the events we participate in.

Developing a sense of self-efficacy can play an important role in every aspect of your life. you know that life is full of challenges and high levels of self-efficacy can help you better deal with these difficulties more effectively. Your belief in your abilities can predict how motivated you feel, how you feel about yourself, and the amount of effort you put into achieving your goals.
